For me there is none other than the H&R/AGX setup. Still soft enough to drive virtually anywhere and better handling than most cars on the road. I suprise people in more expensive and supposedly better handling cars every day and wih the almost un-noticeable drop (to the unfamiliar) they never expect it.

"Best?"

-Pretty subjective term when it comes to suspension. Like motor oil, I suppose: to each his own. (Everyone has their own preference)

I have:

APEX springs (1.6" drop)
KYB AGX struts/shocks

-but I won't pretend it's the "best" setup for everyone. Very firm ride, stable at speed, planted in corners, reduced dive, reduced body roll - I like it, but I know a lot of people who wouldn't.

I recently read a post in a Maxima newsgroup from a 4th Gen. SE driver who said he couldn't stand the "rough ride of [his] stock suspension" anymore & wanted to change it.

Huh??? I thought to myself, this guy should be in a Lincoln Towncar if he thinks a stock 97 SE's suspension is too "rough."

Again, to each his own.

i also have the apex 1.6" drop with agx shocks.

i like the h&r springs but i wanted a lower drop. sprint spring with a 2" drop is to much for the maxima suspension for everyday city driving.

so i went with the apex springs. now for city driving i can set the agx to 1f 3r. if i need a stiffer ride, i go to 3f 5r. so far with the apex springs i have never adjusted my agx past 3f 5r.

Lets not forget those of us on stock springs with just the AGX's. That setup gives one hell of a sweet ride!

This is an all Cush ride set up good shocks AGX adj and Koni Adj as for springs Sprints for the nice look and for Cush (soft) go with HR or Eibachs, you will have a ugly gap on your car with either springs, so I didnt vote either.

You missed B+G / KYB AGX. I could not be happier with my set up.

Oh...i neglected to mention that im planning on getting 18's to complement the lowered look so that's why i left out sprint, intrax, apex, and other springs cuz i dont want anything more than 1.5" drop on my car. Plus, i dont want to have to worry about getting a camber kit and scrapping over speed bumps and driveways. Granted the look is nicer w/ 1.5+ but for everyday driving and in areas near UC Irvine, there are a lot of speed bumps.

if you want a soft ride and don't care for a 1.4" drop then h&r is the way to go.
