Lets end this CAI debate once and for all. Im going to the dyno!

Ok guys this sunday I am going to get the maxed dynoed so I can do two runs. One with the PR CAI in like normal, and one where it only uses the upper portion. I need to know if I need anything special to connect the airfilter to the upper portion though.

Again, run 1 will be regualr PR CAI run 2 will be the other way, which people think adds more HP. We will see once and for all.

No added adapter needed. . . Just use the clamp the kit came with. It's about time someone tried this.

Dude...fock the hybrid..do CAI vs. Popcharger! thats what we all wanna see!!

Also, PLEASE dont have the hood open with fans blowing on it..that totally iliminates the lag the popcharger gives..make it real life conditions, no fans (ok maybe) but NO hood being opened..the pop has to suck in the hot air just like real life..

If those rules arent followed, this dyno run will not be taken seriously

dynos don't mean jack when testing the dif between a CAI and Hybrid/pop because the whole point is cold air when the car is moving. do some quarter mile times with and without...

Yeah, that's what I was going to say, there's a difference when the car is acutally moving.

I can tell you what is going to happen but Y spoil it ? But I can safely say that the CAI will make more power/torque than the POP at a point in the powerband. Also vice versa, the dilema is where to place that gain.

CAI vs Popcharger's already been done by Hiroshi. Pop intake yielded better topend, and CAI had better midrange.

oye.

but since I have a pr cai/pop charger hybrid , I'm interested in seeing how this dyno turns out

What do you mean dyno means nothing?

Nobody had the ***** to try before. Nick Robinson gets my props...

Even when the dynos of Hybrid and Cold air turn out to have no significant difference, that is a SIGNIFICANT discovery.

If the hybrid and PRCAI have same dyno, then at least it proves CAI is as good, if not better than hybrid. The CAI will probably have better performance when the car is actually moving.

If the CAI ends up with better dyno, then the dyno can't be worsened when the car is moving, so that ends the debate.

If the hybrid ends up with better dyno, we still get to see how the hybrid and cai differs, i.e, where their peaks are and stuff.

Any charts we can see? Was the CAI top end less then stock, or just less than the Pop-Charger? Any loss in the low end with the pop (vs. stock)?

I am also interested in seeing these dynos. I think you are supposed to do several runs just to average things out, that is why most places offer 2 or 3 runs for one price. Are you sure they will let you change your set-up between runs? Even if it is only one run with each setup, it will be more hard evidence than I have seen so far.

please put a huge fan infront of the CAI as others did not do this in the past.. its not really a Cold Air Intake if you are sitting in a hot *** garage dyno'ing it.. their is NO COLD AIR.. obviously a HAI is going to show better gains in a HOT *** GARAGE ...
