97 headlights on a 96?
I have got a couple of questions about headlights. First I heard that diamond cut clear corners look better with 97 headlights. Well i have a 96 maxima. Will 97 headlights fit? If they do should I just get them from the dealer. My next question is what hyperwhite headlight bulbs look the best on the maxima. Im looking for a setup that will match all the lights including the fog and clear corners. I also read a way to rewire your corner lights to make them brighter has anyone done this? Is it difficult? Thanks

I think the Diamond-Cut bumper lights looks better on all 4th Gens compared to the non-Diamond ones. But I guess it all comes down to personal preference. Most '95-'96 Max owner have the Diamond ones however...
The 97-99 headlight swap is very common and no modification is required (direct replacement). I believe something like 1 hole is 1/4" off, and you can just kinda push it into place. Make sure you get '97-'99 corner lights to match.
Most people prefer the PIAA SuperWhite lighting setup with PolarG corners, but it is very expensive (including fogs and all $200+). Those are the only bulbs that people know will match perfectly. Otherwise save your money and buy yellow fogs, bright white headlight and corner bulbs and you should be fine (think Phillips Blue Visions or Naxos Xenon Blues).
The rewire is very simple if you have a 1995-1996 Maxima, just search and you will find it. 15-20 Minute mod topps.

The rewire I am talking about is for the corner light (next to headlight), but there is one for the blinkers as well (you can get the blink one off of www.MaximaDriver.com). I have both and I like them both, as they are very practical. I have Naxos Xenon Blues headlights (www.AutoDirectSave.com) and I am very happy with them. You can see my personal pics in the General Forum here. As far as corner I am going to be going with PolarGs (www.CustomMaxima.com). For bumper lights I leave the amber (orange) bulbs in for legality. If you make them white you are asking for a ticket.
