I need to replace my manual tranny, and i found a 96 5-speed nissan max tranny to replace it with, are the interchangable, my build date is 10/95, thanks in advanced

yuppy there both the same exact thing it should go right in if u have all the right part for the conversion.

with what youve got id suggest a lim slip , if u want a quaife ive got a 96 and 98 tranny 96 needs bearings, 98 needs 3rd gear and syncros but has good bearings. so if you want do get a fresh tranny in your car instead of one that the bearings might fail in (96), let me know i can help you put it in too if you want. give me an offer on the trannies if your interested
