Well, I assume you mean a V6 Altima. I suggest you drive one and see how you handle the interior. The handling is great, the power is great, the exterior is great, the interior is cheap.

If you can handle that, and you can afford it...then go for it.

The car is bigger, faster and better handling than your Max. But even the Minima interior is better than the Altima.

People here are going to hate me for this, but in addition to test driving an Altima 5-spd, also testdrive a 6-spd Maxima SE and a Camry V6. The 2002 Max is being heavily discounted and you can get one for not much more than a similarly equipped Altima. Yes, I said Camry. It might not have 240hp or a manual transmission, but Toyota improved it tremendously for 2002. The SE V6 is very impressive for a Camry! Just don't discount it off the bat and try it out...you'll love the interior refinement and ride quality. No Nissan rattles!

Keep the Max and mod it, heck it only has 34,000 miles and is only 2-3 years old!

Yes and that Altimas bad interior is getting around, Edmunds odt com just did a family sedan test and guess what. They knocked the Alti on that cheap interior and noticed that it is well below Maxima quality!http://www.edmunds.com/reviews/compa...0/page005.html

I bet in another year Nissan will "refresh" the interior of the Altima when the Maxima is redesigned and moved up in Nissan's lineup.

MotorWeek on SPeedChannel tested the Altima, Accord, Camry, and Taurus. They knocked the interior of the Altima by saying the plastic lloked it came from Detroit.

I thought that was a funny way to say ceap.
