Vibration and Alignment problem after baning on wheel locks
Ok, I read all the threads about vibration and alignment problems.
But has anyone experienced the following casue.
I lost my wheel lock key and read in past threads that you get a socket and hammer it over the wheel lock. It worked great! Got all 4 locks off (made me scared I took them off so fast).
Then when I put my tires back on, I noticed my car vibrating at highway speeds and pulling to the right.
Got an alignment done at Nissan and did not solve it.
Now at high speed braking, I get vibration thru the pedals and on my steering wheel.
Question, by hammering into the nuts of the wheel, could i have warped the rotor? Any other suggestions regarding the cause of the above?
Thanks guys,
KYle

I used to have problems like this with an old Honda I used to own. The front end was so sensitive to anything out of wack.
Did you try to take the wheels off and remount them agian? Criss cross the lug nuts gnetly at first making sure the wheel is centered on the gub. Centering rings should be on if you have aftermarket wheels.
If you can't fix it that way, have the wheels spin balanced again. One of those two should get you smooth again. It's not likely you damaged the rotors just by hammering on it like that. That hub is pretty solid. Guys smack curbs and bend control arms before the hub gets bent.

Yeah I would agree with the post above. A cheap check is to remove the wheel and remount it, making sure it is torqued down properly. You would be suprised how improperly torque lugs would cause vibrations or instability.
