spring install...help!!

How important is the little red gasket thingie that sit on top of the whole spring assembly? I just finished my whole install, and noticed one of them on the floor. Do I need to take everything apart?

Those are "Sound insulators" according to nissan. I can't see how they are doing that much good. You may just get a few more noises.

They help dampen some noise and protect against rust under there where the strut mount contacts the tower. Not that big of a deal but if you live where they use salt on the road you might want to reconsider putting it back. I forgot to put one on and was able to get it in it by just removing the upper mount bolts and playing with it until it fit. Kind of a PITA but possably worth it.
