Pics: Painting clear tails for 95

I'm in the process of painting clear tails for my 95SE. I posted pics on progress to date at http://maxima.cardomain.com/member_p...=191373&page=2

Check it out. I can't wait to see them without the tape. Stay tuned for more pics.

how does the red color compare to the red that will be next to it when you install them on your car. I got pulled over for having my tail lights clear ... and i was going to cut the clear/clear's and the stock and put them back together ... but i think what you did is a better idea

The red on the painted tails is just about exact to the stock red. I hope to have finished pics by the end of the week showing what they look like just after I've taken off the tape and with them actually installed. Will there be a paint line between the painten/unpainted parts, given I did 6 coats of VANS and 4 coats of clear?

I have a 95 so the stock lenses do show some age, which is why I tried wet sanding.

yes you are going to have a line when you take of the tape. You can get rid of it by wet sanding after you take the tape of.
