don't know what odo is but i have 105,000 miles on car and need oil change at 105,500 so i'm getting it done now instead of when i should have gotten it done between driving...

i remember when i first got my car (last year) i did a full tune up, transmission fix, oil filter change, and all...then like during summer, went to dealtership and they did mad stuff on my car cause my engine light went one due to not chaning oil for so long (forgot) and got sluggish in engine, costed me like 900 and some change but they fixed it...they put new O2 tanks and stuff in car, cleaned engine or something....some extra stuff....since then, just oil changes...do i need to do anything else?

Re: DRIVING TO VA, any tune ups i should do?

Last summer I took a long trip from NJ to South Carolina. On the way there my CEL can on for the first time and I freaked out. Anyway I had my laptop, checked maxima.org and found out how to check the MIL and found that something was wrong with the KS and O2 sensor. Anyway to make a long story short - so long as your current with the factory maintenance schedule, you should have no problems. (by the way learn how to reset the CEL NOW before you go)

Good luck.

Before I go on any long trips I always check the tires for nails/screws/ect. Check your air pressure in all your tires and adjust accordlingly. Don't forget the spare tire!

Check engine light.

Just make sure that you're up to date on everything (plugs, belts, oil, tranny oil) and you should be all good.

Yeah, make sure that the spare is at the proper pressure too.

You can check pressure with a 3 dollar tool from any parts store. Just ask them for one.

Nissan is doing a spring car care clinic March 11-15 and 18-22. It is a FREE 100 point inspection and they give you a written diagnostic report. I got a flier for it last week.

Try stayng away from using your finger to check tire pressure, it just doesn't do it. Get a gage. Your finger can't tell the difference between a good 30-34 psi and a dangerous 45 psi.

Since I brought my car out to school I've done an 1800 mile drive, then a 1000 (roundtrip), and a 600. I usually check all of the fluids, and I pay very close attention to the tires. Make sure they are all properly inflated, and I typically make sure that the pressure is consistent across an axle. I run 32psi in the front and 30 in the back. If the car is running fine now and you take the precautions that everyone has mentioned, you should be fine.

My spring break is next week too. What school do you go to?

Like said before, check the fluids, proper air pressure in the tires, etc. Also, check the belts soon, since you are coming up on 120,000. Good luck with the trip. BTW, I drove from GA to NC, that is 400+ miles, it was nothing big at all.....
