Why do Headlights Melt My Max!

Why do Headlights Melt My Max!

I thought great ill buy the ice - hyper - headlights off ebay, put em in they melted the housing things and i had to modify,
Next. I buy new housing hook ups from junkyard, install new bluiey headlights and f*** , it happened again!
Now. I cant drive at night . WHY FRED

maybe you're using way too high wattage bulbs?

your regular sockets cant handle the watts that are from after market "hid" bulbs. There for they get too hot and melt. YOu can buy regular watt bulbs ( phillips blue vision is a good choice) or you can buy a 9004 wire harness from Apc for about 45 dollars. Then you will be able to run high watt bulbs and not worry about anything.

Hmm I was under the impression that the wiring can handle PIAA 9004 bulbs?

The stock wiring can handle the PIAA 9004s because they operate at the stock wattage. Other "cheapo" brand lights that offer the "HID" look operate at 85/100 watts. That is why they melt the harness. That extra wattage and heat is too much for the stock wiring/sockets.

yeah i m almost sure both set s were about 80/100 watt.
There we are PIAA is the schizznit.

stay with any bulb of stock wattage of 45 low beam
65 high bean Piaa, Phillips, APC, or Eurolite or whatever

if you use the 80/100 or even more 100/130 bulbs you will need the upgraded harness....
