Washed front tires, CEL came on

Hey guys,
I washed the front tires yesterday night. In the morning the car started with a hissing/wistling noise and the Check engine light came on.I still havent had time to check the codes.Any ideas if this is realted to water entering into something?

As always,
TIA

What the hell?

The CEL probably came on and had nothing to do with you washing your tires. Just unlucky coincidence.

Do an ECU check.

I'm sure your CEL light had nothing to do with washing your wheels. If anything, the ABS may throw a code, there are speed sensors on each hub. Never hear of that happening on a max. before. My company has a Passsssat, like 97 or 98.. Every time we send the car through the car wash, the ABS system goes into limp mode. POS system.

Two weeks ago my starter died just the day after I washed my car. Maybe they were related?

It's probably code 1215....

The dirty wheel code, you must have missed a spot...

Try recleaning the wheels and see if the CEL turns off...

Hey MadMax and others it's a real Q.I know it sounds silly but it has happened!I personally think it must be the high pressure water, It might have entered something which caused the wistling/hissing noise as soon as i started my car and then the CEL came on.
I'll get the codes and post it tommorow!!

Take care,
Jay

I'm going to get little CEL light stickers made up that flash 1215. The next Maxima meet I go to, there's a few cars that should have this code placed directly in the drivers view.
