Lens paint or Adhesive Film?

Lens paint or Adhesive Film?
I just got my clear/clear tail lights for my 95 max and I was looking at Mark's car and him painting his lights. They look great but I dont have the time and space to paint them. I live at school so there would be no place I could really leave them to dry. I was looking at the VANS site and they had transparent red adhesive film. I was wondering if that would work and still look okay. Thanks for the feedback.
