How do you know if you have a bad O2. Will the check engine light always come on?

 

I should know Mine came on last month and I drove around with it like that for a few weeks, the car was actually slower had less power, probably a safe mode that the ECU puts the car in for safety sake. The O2 sensor is easy to change out.
