Your best bet is to return the Altezzas and get your money back. They are lame. Spend that money on a real mod like a Y-pipe.

All 4th gens have 3 lights in the tails, you aren't looking hard enough.

Let me rephrase

I don't think you understand......the bulb harness that came with my altezzaz hold two bulbs a piece. The light itself has three spaces for bulbs? I'm talking about the smallest bulb hole on the outside light. Where is the harness for that?

You use the already existing one on your car. Just put a red bulb in and take out the clear bulb.

Maybe you need to reuse the stock harness that's my guess....I hope you got the carbon fiber ones. The chrome ones are so nasty.

the third light is your side marker light, your stock max should have it, use the same harness from the stock, I put in a clear bulb and (stock) and it seems not to work with that, so therefore, I will have to buy some blue ones = )

yes, the lights should have 3 connections, the 3rd small one on the side is just the side marker, if you wanna call it that. it is present on the stock lights and the connection comes off of the same wiring as the other two main bulbs

I think you should not put the wedge bulb in. At night, it look kind of chessy with that wedge bulb there. I know a few people with the Altezzas who choose to leave out the wedge bulb. Much better IMO.

I have the chrome altezza's that everyone hates... , but what i did with my 3rd bulb thats off to the far left and right, was put a superwhite bulb in, then rewired it so that it only blinks with my blinkers. Its a real easy setup and adds a nice touch imo.

DOT requirements

To be DOT compliant, you must use that side light. Otherwise you risk getting a ticket. And in some states, inspections are more strict than average and they may fail you for this.

As to the first question, the harness coming from the car's existing wiring with bulb will fit right in. The other sockets are included because the OEM ones are not compatible with the new lighting.

As for the alternative wiring, I'm wondering if you can use the sidelight as dual purpose: illuminates with the parking lights AND flashes when the turn signal is engaged? I'm guessing it would be the same mod you do for the front parking lights...

hey,
how'd you rewire it as a blinker? i have the chrome ones too and i'm not ashamed to admit it. i think they look good and that's all that really matters. anyway, i hate having the third bulb yellow/white while i'm driving, it just seems weird, so maybe i'll try to do what you did. either that or i'll just take it out one of these days.

ok you look at the two wires that are going to that small light, one is black and the other is some other color, you take the wire that is not black, and you cut it about halfway, leaving you room to put it back together if you so desired. then you look at your turn signal wires, the same deal here with the wires...ones black ones not, the one thats not black you strip away a little bit of the covering, showing you some bare wire....then you connect the lead from the other wire onto the wire where you stripped a little bit away. Basically, what happens is whenever you signal, that other wire gets hit with twelve volts, with this other wire connnected to your original blinker wires, it will get the 12 volt at the same time. any questions??

front / rear turn signal rewire

Rguida's instructions should work. The rewire was originally thought up for the front turn signals. They should apply to the rear turn signals as well. If the turn signal bulb was dual filament (e.g. parking light and turn signal combined as commonly found in American cars), it would be more complicated.

Definitely filing this away for the day when I put in new tails...
