ON A 97 MAXIMA (U.S. VERSION) I THINK ITS SPOSE TO BE 190HP AT CRANK AND 205 OR
210 TQ AT WHEEL.

JUST LIKE THE HONDA'S
10-20HP DIF JUST IN THE JAP SPEC. MOSTLY THE SAME EXCEPT MILES ARE NO MORE THAN 30K ON THE ONE'S IM LOOKIN AT AND MINES GOT 68K..
PLUS THE RESON I WANT ONE IS SO I CAN DRIVE MY CAR EVERY
DAY AND BE ABEL TO BILD IT THE WAY I WANT THEN DROP IN WHEN DONE,
IT WOULD BE A DIRECT SWAP NO MODS ON MOUNTS OR WIRING!! WHERE IM FROM IM COLORADO ITS A BIG THING (SWAPS) I GUESS WERE BEHIND OR AHEAD!!!

and... how are you planing on converting to right hand drive?

much respect,
mike

PRICE WISE NOT SURE I HALFTA FIND OUT WHAT CUSTOMS DECIDES. ANY OF THE VG'S BECAUSE NO JDM DEALER DOSE VG'S WELL NOT THAT I HAVE SEEN!!!
IM CHECKING INTO ANY OTHER MOTOR'S THAT WILL BOLT UP. I KNOW THE 1997 I30 IS SPOSE TO BOLT UP BUT NOT SURE IF ITS SAME MOTOR OR A LIL DIF?!
MY UNDERSTANDING ON THE RIGHT HAND DRIVE IS IT'S JUST LIKE TAKING A H22A1 (U.S.) AND SWAPING IT WITH A H22A (J-SPEC).I HAVE SEEN IT DONE THEIR ARE 2 CARS IN MY TOWN THAT HAVE DONE IT. IT DROPS IN AND MOUNTS UP TO YOUR TRANNY. NOW I HAVE NOT PAID ENOUGH ATT TO SEE IF IT SITS BACKWARDS OR WHAT... BUT ITS SPOSE TO BE A STAGE ONE MOD WITCH REQUIRES NO MOD'S ON YOUR ELCTRIC,MOUNTS,DRIVE TRAIN,INTAKE....

Couple of things need to be addressed here.

First, press your caps lock key once.

Second, the 4th generation maxima uses the VQ30DE, a VG would be of no use to us.

Third, the 4th gen maxima is rated at 190 hp at the crank and 205 tq at the crank, not the wheels.

It's great your are trying to import engines for your local guys but you do know that these engines are already being imported and are readily available from importers on the West/East coasts right?

yea i know just wanted to know if eveyone knows! Becides most of them are $2,500 and up, well the ones i have seen! Do you know how much they pay for these motors to be pulled in Japan and ship them??? it's under a $1,000 for most 6-cylinders. And around $500 for 4-cylinders..

ohh and that includes ecu,tranny,wiring,intake,35k mi on average..

So I wanted to bring a few over and hook some people up but only for Nissan's the Honda's I show no pitty to any one who wants a j-spec

What are the differences?

I live in SC and am going to NC to get a custom T3 turbo instaled for 4000 dollars. I was thinking about swapin my engine, but I dont know the differences on the different engines to know which one to buy? What makes these engines so special and what are the specs on them? Once I come back from Boot Camp in the Air Force Reserve I'm gona have atleast 10,000 dollars to burn. I have and Auto, and gona get the Valve body mode and a Boost control and inter coller for the turbo. Now this **** is all planed its not 100% gona happen, but I hope to meet up with some other Max's from around my way. I dont know of any Max'z that live near me. So If you know where SC give me a holla and we can race!!!!

OK check this out.

VQ30DE is what we already have, the Japanese version is rated at the same power as the US version. So that's useless.

VQ30E doesn't exist.

VQ30DETT doesn't exist.

Basically this entire thread has no point.

The reason engines from Japan always have low mileage is because of taxes they have to pay over there, as a car gets older. Because they throw away cars like Kleenex, they don't bother to maintain them worth a damn. So just because you are getting a super low mileage JDM engine doesn't mean it will be in good shape, most of the time it won't.

vq30e dose exist its even in a 4th generation chilton(sp)
vq30dett dose exist to--- the tt stands for twin turbo!!!!
just like HONDA Nissan has a higher tq and hp stock because they
dont have the regulations we do on our verson of the cars!!!
I myself dont care if it's in tip top condition because its going to be built from ground up so that it can handle a turbo/supper charger or Nos to a greater extent. In other words I agree with the (Kleenex statement), but I still think you need to check to make sure your right about the vq30e--- allmost postive, and the vq30deTT--- im most certin dose exist but you let me know.

P.S.
let me know when you get that
1/4 Down a little then we can
go race.....................

No there is no VQ30DETT (twin turbo). There is a VQ30DET (single turbo), and there is a VG30DETT (300ZX Twin Turbo). Some people have worked on putting it in a US spec maxima. You have to cut into the firewall because of the exhaust routing.

PS with your "INTAKE,STR8T PIPE,CLUTCH,HALFSHAFTS,SPARK PLUGS(DENSO),CLEAR CORNERS.." I'd be watching you grow smaller and smaller in my rearview mirror, at Bandimere or anywhere else.
