My check engine light came on this morning. I have a 96 SE with 92k on it. I put Y pipe on in Dec. and no real problems except rubbing. Had oil changed two weeks ago. I'm wondering what tripped the indicator? I retightened the gas cap and light is still on? What should I do?

Do a self diagnosis. Very easy and a hell of a lot cheaper than taking it to a shop just to get the same answer.

 

A loose gap cap on an OBDII car will trip an emisisons code through the CEL.
