Yes

The bulbs for the headlights are dual filament. One for low beam one for high beam. Your low beam filament blew...thus the reason no light until you turn on your highbeams.

the low beam filiment has burnt out, the high beams would work but the low beams wouldnt. there are 2 wires which are high's and lows. the lows are gone so yes u need new bulbs OR maybe its ur wireing harness. i would get my old stock bulbs and check that the low and high beams work. if they do then its ur bulbs. hope this helps.

get an aftermarket wiring harness for the front headlights so that you do not burn ur oem harness up. They will fry the plastic and wires if you are using more wattage.

Xenon bulbs have a rather short life span, so if your into xenon lighting - you should carry a few spares in your trunk just in case
