Rewire Trouble???

Rewire Trouble???
I've had my 98 for over a year now. When I first got it I rewired the corners by soldering the wire to the other available contact point. It worked for a few minutes then blew a fuse, and then kept blowing fuses???? The soldering job was nice and clean, and as far as I know nothing was grounding out on anything(that would cause it to blow). So I melted the wires off and re-soldered them back to their original spots.
Any idea's what happened?? I would like to have brighter corners but don't want to deal with that sh*t again.
Thanks

You must of had a short somewhere near the socket. Try resoldering it and use an ohmmeter to check for a short before you plug it back in.
You can use the other method and cut the nub if you like. I resoldered without any problems.

what i did was rewire my lights. there are two hots and a ground going to each light. (it runs an 1157 bulb, so there are two parts, which require two hot wires. one for the light when you turn it on, and one for the brighter turn light.) i just swapped out the two hot wires. they are bright as hell now, and it took like 5 mins. the wierd think is, they are on full bright all the time now; they don't get any brighter when i turn on my sig.
what's blowing your fuse is the fact that you're running all "4" bulbs at once, and that's too much of a load for the fuse. it's pulling too much current for the 10 amp? fuse to hold.

Will it matter which nub? How do I put it in the socket backwards?? It has grooves to twist it in one way(I think). The **** on the side of the bulb are at different heights how can it go in reverse. And you did this? No Fuse problems?
I could solder with my eyes closed, and I followed the directions to the tee! That is why I couldn't understand what was going on?
Cheap fix for shi*ty 9004 headlights????

Normally, the bulb goes in (twists in) only one way, when you cut the nipple off (I belief it is the top one, closest to the bulb) it will go in both ways.

only 95-96 has this option, the 97's+ only have one wire going to the lights, usually to output 8 watts, but with the rewire job you know have about 22...it would be hard to make your lights any brighter than that....as for making the lights act like a 95-96, i wouldn't know how that works....
