Call the police immediately, then call your insurance company. The optimum scenario would have been you making these calls on your cell phone in your wife's/gf's/parent's car chasing after this garbage... prolly too late for that if you're here posting your story.

I didn't know until the next day what happened to my car, but at least he/she/they didn't steal the whole car...

From the Liberty Mutual website
(https://www.web-worx.com/liberty/claims/):
Quote:
Report Auto, Home and Marine Claims to Liberty Mutual Online

This site was created to make the reporting of routine claims more convenient and can be used for reporting any claim which does not involve injury. If anyone involved in an accident was injured or you require immediate assistance, please contact our Claims Call Center at 1-800-526-1547. Our Claims Call Center is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
And, yeah, the OEM alarm sucks and should be replaced before *anything* is done to the car... I learned that the hard way (I guess you just did too, sorry).

Good luck.

that was the first time i heard someone drive my max and man that CAI is so loud because that person was gunning it and it sounded like NASCAR outside. i wont get the car back in one piece because i live right by Newark/Jersey city, Nj and they usually burn em up. maybe i should start looking for a new car now. It sucks cuz in my area you cant have anything nice.

Sometimes I just don't understand you people. You invest thousands of dollars in modifications, but you can't spend $300-500 on a nice aftermarket alarm, ESPECIALLY if you live in a bad neighborhood.
Sorry it happened, but next time put security on top of other things.

That's why you NEED to keep all your mod receipts... so you can claim insurance for certain items (wheels, paintjob, bodykit etc.) if something like this happens.
If you live in a bad neighborhood... pay for a garage (if at all possible) and get FULL COVERAGE... insurance policies are expensive for these reasons.

I hope you got your police report. Good luck with the claims process Paul

Newark - Auto theft capital of the US
Well, living in such an auto-theft prone area, you can't get by with an OEM alarm without supplemental devices.

The OEM alarm problem is that there is no shock sensor. You break the glass, climb in through the window, and no alarm sounds go off. A cleverly located kill switch is key, but you also want that sensor to ward off someone stealing valuables from your interior.

Sorry to hear of your loss... I hope that if the car is recovered, it isn't badly damaged; otherwise that you never see it again. May it rest in peace. Good luck!

Does the security key thing work???

When we bought my car they said something like if anyone steals the car with the anti-theft system activated then they would give us $25,000 for a new car i think or something like that......

Whats the best aftermarket alarm system out in the market??? There have been lots of stolen cars here in NorCal Stockton too....How much will it be for the alarm...If i have like a nice system and stuff on the car whats the best way to protect it?????

Get an alarm that has shock/tilt sensors.
For example, BMW alarm includes shock, tilt and motion sensors. The dealer tried to talk me into LoJack, but I don't need the car back once it's stolen.

Sorry to hear that - hope your fully insured. I had liability-only on my 92 Civic HB 2 years ago. Stolen right in the lovely city of Newark. Funny thing was, it was recovered 6 months later. Some dude from NJIT was driving it around - WITH MY PLATES. Worst part about it, the dude never changed the oil!

Any way best of luck...

Pappa

Perhaps oil was one of the last things on his mind.

Paul-e, good luck with getting the car back. Even though insurance will pay for it (assuming full coverage), I would still prefer getting the car back untouched. You put time and effort and $$$ into the car, you'd like to at least be able to appreciate it.

Sorry to hear about your Maxima. You really need a good alarm and more if you live in Newark, NJ. That's why I have a full alarm system installed on my new cars on the first day. NO chance of letting the theives take the car when it is new off the lot.

Man.... That does suck bad! I've been hearing about a lot of break-ins and burglaries lately. I'm really sorry to hear about your loss.
I wish someone would come and steal my Max so I can get a new one. It's wrecked on one side and has a lot of miles. I do think you should get a new Max though. Maybe a 5th gen???? Peace.
