Once Again Tire question!! Need help.
This info would be much appreciated. I have already used search and tire questions seem to be very diverse so I am asking again.
I need to make a decision B/T 2 tire sizes for the 17" Rims I am buying.
Stock 16" 215/55 16
1. 225/50 17
2. 235/40 17
I will be lowering the car with Progress Springs 1.7 front 1.5 rear. Right now I am not too worried about the ride feel. It is going to be more harsh but I used to drive a VW Golf GTI that was lowered 2.5 inches and a Ford SHO that had Eibach's on it. Both were pretty stiff rides.
My queston are:
1. Will there be any problem fitting the 225/50 17?
2. How will the 235/40 17 look in the wheel well?
-Will The Wheel/Tire combo look too small for the well gap that I will have considering the drop that is being put on the car?
3. What will these sizes do in respect to speedometer accuracy and milage accuracy?
Thanks Everyone!

a few points:
1. I don't think any of the sizes you mentioned should be a problem. How wide are your 17's?
2. As long as you keep you overall diameter as close to stock as possible, the wheel gap will be the same, should look fine.
3. Want to compare tire sizes?http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html
