To those who want/have Neons

I want to get 2 Neon/Black lights for the footrests of my Max.
Where is the best place to get them. I know they are some what expensive, plus I am in Toronto, and I would probably have to have them shipped.

SO where is the best place to get them? JC WHitney or Street Glow, or other?
Anyone interested in a group deal to make it cheaper or something???

Thanks

I have blue neon under the dash and it's pretty bright at night. Kinda distracting. It lights up the inside at night that people stares at me at the stop light. I had black lights before but it was alittle too dim. Too bad there are no neons with those dimmer feature.

Do you have a 10" or a 15"? (and I am talking about the Neons)

Dont they sell those at like every pepboys/Autozone type place? Along with WalMArt and Kmart I believe. I think they come in 10/15/20-somethign inch sizes.

You could probably just hook up a potentiomenter to them and limit the power getting to the light. That should dim it down for you and adjust it with the turn of a **** when you want it brighter/dimmer.

I am in Toronto, we don't have Pepboys.
And very few places sell them here. I don't want some cheap neons that will burn out after a week.

But what is better, 10 pr 15"?
what do you guys recommend.
I don't want it too bright, but I don't want it too dim as well.

pepboys

Don't pepboys and the like only sell the neons that plug into the cigarette lighter? It would look stupid to have cords running all around in the car. It would be tight if you get some without.

I plan on wiring it to my radio or something, or any other constant power that is on when the ignition is on, but I will hookk it up with a switch.

What size Neons should I get? Where in Toronto can I get them?
Anyone got them off EBay?

um, don't get it in any stupid store like pepboys or autozone, they dont come with built in transformers and will just keep blowing out. Go with streetglow or liteglow. I actually did an install today 15" blue neon's.....they look hot, blacklight is too dim for me.

um....i think they're pretty cheap on ebay...streetglow/liteglow will always have highest prices so dont' get it directly from them. But do get their brand name.

you don't want to hook them up to a source that is on whenever the car is on .... the only time that you're going to have them on is at night .... it takes a little knowledge of circuits .... light, switch, and a battery ... thats how you should do it ....

if you want to get black lights, i suggest you do it, they expose the white so nicely, expecially if you can find floor mats that'll come out white when you put the light up to it ... definately would look sick ... but if you wanna go for neons, those look good as well

Well, if they are with a switch does it make a difference to what source they are hooked up to?

And yes, Neons are illigal, that's why I am planning on installing a switch.

What is a good price for a pair of Neons probbaly 10-15" off ebay?
I still haven't decided if I will go with 10 or 15. I don't want too much light.

I agree with the point that you should hook it up to fuse line switch for only when u turn lights on (at night). No point hookin them up to constatn source, even with switch. -- that's what i did.....hooked it up to tail lights fuse.

as for blacklights.....if u have white floor mats...that would definatly be HOT...other wise go for neon blue. l8er.

the advantage to hooking everything up to a 12 volt battery
1)there are minimal wires
2)you can hide the battery under your seat
3)if you leave the lights on it won't kill your car battery

where to install the switch .... i have a 96 and there are those 3 coin holders are so not useful ... thats where i'd put them in .. but there are so many places that you could put a switch ... be creative

I have a 98, I am not as cool, I don't have the coin holders
and I don't feel like cutting a hole to install a switch.

Just looking for suggestions to make my life easier.

well if you don't want to cut holes ... you can always just leave it loose under the driver seat

I have Streetglow 15 inch under my dash and under my seats and one 15 in the front grille. I also have Streetglow under body kit gold series. If you go with Streetglow under body, don't get the blue line...I have a few friends and customers at work that say they break easily. You can get Streetglow at Circuit City. Roadshop does a nice job installing, I did all the mounting and swtich instalation....and left the wiring to them. I got the interior and exterior neons on 2 different swtiches. Looks mighty bad *** at night. You cannot drive with them on though. They are good for parking lots and shows, but if a cop sees you on the road with them on...you'll be paying the government's electric bill.
