As I stated before, I bought my 97Max last week. I've noticed that it idles at 650 rpms. Is this normal? When it idles, like when I stop at a red, theres a vibration on the steering wheel and brake pedal. Is this normal? If not, how do I go about to fix this? Your help is much needed and appreciated.

Thats a good question if the Idle is not weaving up and down then it should not be shaking, these are just ideas try changing the spark plugs and make sure you are using 91+Octane gas,I'm sure some other guys here have had the same problem and know more,Good Luck

Why not try to adjust the idle a little higher? Just a suggestion. There is an idle adjustment screw i think near the throttle body. I'd start there.

Well, when I bought the car there was like a quarter tank full left and then I filled it up with 93 octane. I'm still using this gas because I hardly drove it since I bought it. Its still almost the full tank. you think its shaking because there might some of the old gas in the tank?

My max idles at 650, sometimes 550 when in big traffic, but the steering wheel does not shake. Someone suggested messing with the idle screw. If u lift up the hood and look at the inside of it (hood) u'll see a white note stating that no adjustment is necessary for idle speed.

Then please tell me what is the purpose of the idle adjustment screw?

I guess the same purpose as the white note saying no adjustment is necessary.

Hm....interesting. I just opened the manual. It sais: Idle speed-rpm - See the "Emission Control Label" on the underside of the hood.
Well, and a few posts back i wrote what that lable sais.
"Idle speed - no adjustment necessary"
