I seem to go through the tread on tires like crazy. (touring tires, Toyo Proxi)
Does anyone else have this dilema? Has anyone found a lond lasting tire?

what size tires do you have?
most often low profile tires dont last too long.
It all depends on how you drive, how fast you take corners and its the proper pressure is in the tires
if your tires wear on the out side, its due to incorrect pressure, incorrect toe in or extreme camber, or you take corners too fast
If your tires wear on inside its due to overinflation
You should check your tire pressure every week.

I have Toyo Proxes H4 215/60/R15. Bought Dec. 5.Did alignment and all that good stuff. The front shows wear already but the rear looks brand new still. What other tires do you reccommend? Do I always have to use low profile tires?

Yokohama tires are good as well as kuhmo tires (best price for the quality)
You have to remember to rotate your tires every 4000 miles so they wear evenly.
You dont have to have low profile tires. I have 17 inch rims so my tire size is 215/45/17 and they wear faster. My last pair I gotten about 12 k out of them before I had to get new ones.
Its all about your driving.

Overinflated tires will wear the center more, while underinflated tires will wear BOTH edges more. If only one edge per tire is wearing, that would point to a camber or a toe issue. If you're car is lowered, the camber is probably out of spec. I lowered mine with H&R's and the camber is at -.9. The recommended limit is -1.0. If your car is lowered anymore than 1.5", your camber is probably more out of spec than mine and will increase your tire wear. Camber is not adjustable on the Maxima unless you put a kit on it, so if this is your problem there is not much you can do.

You also need to rotate them.

I have about 30000 miles of hard driving on my Potenza RE950s and they are wearing evenly. I rotate at every other oil change, about 7000 miles.
