neutral/gear switch????

Do any ORG. members know where the neutral gear switch is on my 1995 manual transmission Maxima SE? VINIPUX had the identical problem as me after he replaced his clutch which didn't allow his max to start. Mine is cranking, but not starting. All of my sensors are up to par, so I figured I'll check this last possible switch before i officially go insane. I haven't driven her in 2 weeks!!!

Re: neutral/gear switch????

I believe it's on the transmission. I have an auto but I did look up my Haynes manual a while ago and remember seeing a neutral/reverse switch on the manual t/m (inhibit for the automagics).

Don't take my word for it though, I suggest you get a Haynes manual for around $10 ... it'll show you the exact location and how to test it, etc.

I have a 97Se 5 speed. The switch on mine is located on the driver's side of the transmission casing near the bottom. If you replace your going to have to replace your transmission fluid. The switch looks like a round black plastic cap about 2" in diameter and has a wire coming out of it. Good luck,

Chrisco
