help with AIMING Headlights~~!!
Okay, okay, I know, before I post any new question--use the search function, and I did...and I am a bit confused about this because the info I got on the board was different than what is in the Haynes manual, so if anyone can comment, that would be wonderful.
I am trying to reaim my headlights higher after installing the factory foglights yesterday. And according to my Haynes manual it says that the outer bolts (farthest away from the center grill) are the ones to turn to move the headlights "vertical position"--that would mean higher or lower. And accordingly the two bolts closest to the center controls the horizontal (left right) movements.
but from this post here:
http://forums.maxima.org/showthread.phtml?threadid=8078
it is the opposite:
I just want the headlight beam patter higher and wider--can anyone suggest in which direction I ought to twist the outter and inner adjustment bolts?
thanks guys, and happy turkey day.
hehe

IIRC... it's the other way around
The ones nearest the centerline of the car adjusts the lights vertically... if you adjust the outer ones...you can see the light assembly pivot to the right/left...
Just do it by eye.. Watch the assembly and turn each one.. You will get an idea of what each one does..

did it by eye
hey guys thanks--
I actually didn't get to see the spot where I was aiming because it wasn't dark enough. In any case, I reaimed the light last night when it got darker and as it seems the outter screw adjusts the height. I got it to work and now my lights are so much brighter. Great, now I ought to write to Haynes and tell them they got that part of the instruction wrong. damn it.
