No Tool?

Best song(s) to drive any car to... (IMHO)

"Parabol"/"Parabola" - Tool

By the time time Parabol finishes and the opening riffs of Parabola start I don't know anyone who could resist just flooring it and speeding down the highway or a windy back road.

"Clubbed to Death" - Rob D (which two other people already said) is also a cool song to drive to.

And there was some techno/dance song on a CD my friend brought along with him this morning that had great bass and sounded really good over the factory bose speakers that was good driving music too. Might find out the name from him later...

"The Grudge" (Track 1 on Lateralus) also kicks a$$ for driving...

Bad song! Booooo ... sellout Metallica .. boooooo!

I don't have one specific song, but just lots of different stuff from different artists: Godsmack, Korn, Disturbed, Papa Roach, Old Metallica, Marilyn Manson, Rod Zombie, Rage Against the Machine, and if I'm feeling really good, some Jimi Hendrix or the Doors.

In my 12 Disc CD changer I have...

#1 - Tool
#2 - Tool
#3 - Tool
#4 - Stabbing Westward
#5 - Stabbing Westward
empty, empty, etc.

That's all I really need to survive. But if I'm in a Trancey mood then I'll put in some Aura or something like that. Oh yeah, and of course Barracuda from Heart, that's a wicked cool song to drive to.

All these non-rap songs are bringing a tear to my eye... sniff... I love you guys. Nothing against the rap people though.

Tool can't really be beat as music to drive fast to. The Grudge and Parabola make me violate the law the worst out of the Tool tracks that come to mind, maybe because Lateralus is in the CD player now.

Other stuff that's great driving music:

Fatboy Slim - Right here, Right now = best driving groove ever. Try it, you'll see.
Steppenwolf - Magic Carpet Ride (or the remix on the Go soundtrack)
Nickelback - One Last Run
Propellerheads - On Her Majesty's Secret Service
Anything fast by Goldfinger - I think someone was referring to their cover of 99 Red Balloons.
Anything by Paul Van Dyk (my favorite is For an Angel right now, but it changes by the week)

...and misc. Bad Religion, RATM, generic house music (ATB, Darude), and when I'm in a really strange mood it's fast jazz.

is it obvious I love music threads?

cruising music:
Massive Attack (Blue Lines never leaves my Max)
Geto Boys (Uncut Dope never leaves the car either)

favorite song to race to:
Sunny Day Real Estate - Snibe (launch a couple of seconds before the first chorus)

and the other day I sat at a red light, not wanting to make my turn onto the express-way on-ramp until Hey Man, Nice Shot hit that first chorus...
wasn't very nice to the guy behind me waiting to make that same turn - but **** that, I like to live surrealistically

anybody else have racing/WOT song recommendations?

i think we've all driven fast to that song, if playing video games (Gran Turismo 3) counts as driving

nah dude, what you got to do is play the game first listen to the song while racing in the skyline, then burn the song on cd and go out to your car and hit the highway...try staying OFF the throttle...i can almost guarantee it doesnt happen.

Heheh, gotta agree with you there. I scared the $hit out of a friend of mine who was taking his first ride in the Maxima last night. Once he switched the CD to Lateralus I was pretty much gone. I love this car.

The song that has captured my attention with its amazing beat at the moment is "Outta my Mind" by Kylie Minogue. Even if you hate the song, you'll find yourself bopping your head up and down as the song plays.

BEST SONG

The best song to listen to if you have a long drive is UNEASY LISTENING VOLUME 1 by DJ Z-trip and DJ P. It is all these easy listening songs redone with awesome beats. Features Del of the Funky Homosapiens (gorillaz rapper). It's 75 minutes long, if you want it, IM me.
