Gas Filler Noise
Gas Filler Noise
I noticed that almost everytime I open up the cap to fill up on gas, while releasing the cap, there is a positive/negative pressure noise. It's as if there is a vaccuum or pressure leaking in or out of the system as I am removing the cap. Is this normal?

Sorry. I am just kidding. Yes it is normal do not worry.

No it is not at all. Are your pressurizing the gas tank when you fill it up? Just get a piece of tubing and blow air in there enxt time you top it off and you should be all set. Do this everytime until it is fixed.
I just use regular pumps. I noticed though that this noise usually occurs when I've gotten the gas level down REALLY low, like below the E low, with the low gas warning nice and bright. With "normal" amounts of gas in the tank, there is no noise.
Is this noise supposed to occur when you get really low on gas? Also, I had some evap problems not too long ago, could this be related? Supposedly, they replaced some valves, and eventually something electronic in the evap system.
I guess I'm just paranoid because I'm planning on running nitrous this season, and I'm already thinking I need a better fuel pump just to run 55hp with the ZEX kit.
Sorry. I am just kidding. Yes it is normal do not worry.

If your running Nitrous even at 55 shot you may want to consider giving it a new fuel pump anyway. Most people say anything over 50 should get it. Even though your only a few over it is nice to know that it is there just in case.
