Rice..or nice.
Are those from JC Whitney? Im pretty sure they serve no functional purpose.
I dont know, it IS different, and as we all know, variety is the spice of life
. If everyone's Max looked the same, that would take the fun out of meets and such.
I personally wouldnt put them on my car.

Kinda reminds me of the way *EVERY* Mustang on the road has a hood scoop and fender scoops... except... where these "scoops" would actually scoop in air, it's just filled in (read: completely blocked) with a black honeycomb solid piece of plastic, therefore rendering the scoop non-functional.
I used to own a '90 RX7 TurboII, and it had a hood scoop. A functional hood scoop. Why? Because it had a top-mounted intercooler that required it. I absolutely despise cars that have fake hood scoops. Sorry.
One more thing: it's "Chromalusion", not "Chrome Illusion".

about the chromalusion, funny thing, thats how i had it spelled before but a friend i trusted told me it was spelled otherwise..i checked the dupont site and whaddya know, it is chromalusion like i thought it was in the first place.
nizmo, about the cat, i was installing my neons and i needed my ramps and couldn't find them. i was blowing a fuse when my cat started meowing at the back door. i thought she saw another cat so i went to check, turns out i left the ramps outside...another cat, intuition, i don't know but she helped me find them. that and she likes to go cruising.
Sorry, not really my taste. The double scoops are kind of rice-y, imnsho. One large, centered scoop might look cool, though. Regardless, if you like 'em then cool. As far as I'm concerned any kind of cosmetic modification should be done because you like it not to impress other people.
Of course, something this unique is sure to get your car noticed. And there's nothing wrong with that.

I dont understand the majority of people and "trucks" with hood scoops... for the majority its a waste of $, and can only slow you down due to aerodynamics on the highway.
My view, just not my thing i guess.

DEFINITELY OT

We have two of them (both black) and I think I may get another one. Just as entertaining as dogs without all the work. I can actually go out of town for a week and get someone to stop by 2 or 3 times to fill their food bowls and they're good to go ...
Rice is the car version of being a poseur.
Your hood scoops are non-functional... but you are posing them as "ram air" scoops that are functional on other cars.
Purely and objectively by definition, they are rice, as you have added something to your car that has bark but no bite. Or as I said before, your car is a "poseur".

My cat disappeared a few weeks ago.
He was a little f|_|cker, but still... ya know? But it's ok, cuz one of my buddies at work has 3 kittens, so I'll get another p|_|ssy in 3 or 4 weeks!!
i think your car clashes.....different color front lip, those black things on top of your car, and now the scoops....but hey if you like it then who am i to say anything....biggest mod i've done so far is change my license plates
