Have you abided by your car's recommended service schedule? You have to TRY to lose to a 94 Altima, that's ridiculous.

Check for leaks in the y-pipe also.

Or stop racing in reverse.

Hello:

Well; believe it or not, there is a proper way to drive an "automagic".

If you just stomp the accelerator pedal all the way to the floor right off the line, this will be slower as compared to gradually leaning into the throttle as the revs climb.

The more power you dump into the torque converter at lower revs, the greater and greater percentage that gets wasted -- once past 3000rpms, then you can floor it.

Make sure that you have the proper type of trasmission fluid --
If the viscosity is too low, then you will lose mechanical efficiency (which is already not very good with any automatic).
If the transmission fluid has more than a few thousand miles on it, it probably has already suffered viscosity breakdown.

First of yall do you shift from 1, 2, then D. You should do that when racing! I also have auto. Its not good to race with an auto in D

you have less than i do and i stay crappin on the altimas...i even give them head starts. my main questions are

1. Are you putting your foot on the horizontal pedal?
2. Does the gear have an orange line next to the "P"?
and my final question is
3. Is that lever next to the gear shifter up or down..

If you answered yes to any of those questions you should go to your nearest bus stop and WAIT!!!!

If you keep losing burn your car and get a new max.

Have you thought of getting VB upgrade, I've heard that its the best thing you can get for autos. You can also get a torque converter. All great mods for automagics

Actually when I start the race I put on 2 and release OD then I shift to D but no matter what I do it seems slow. Sometimes when I start the car my OD button blinks like 20 times. I have posted that before and someone told me that this could be a transmision problems. I still hanvent check that. On my next paycheck I will go to a Nissan dealer. I just did a transmission tune up changed the gusket and oil as well as oxigen sensors.

Do you have timeslips from the track to back up your claim?

I do.

I can summarize though. From one night:

First run, me shifting, 15.27
2nd, it shifting, 15.25
3rd run, me shifting, 15.29

That seems to be NO DIFFERENCE to me...
