Another KYB Question: Allignment
Another KYB Question: Allignment
Hey,
I just got my KYBs on and I know that I need to have my car alligned. Ill probably do that Monday after I play with the settings. But my question is- what if i decide for now i wantthem on 2/4 and then later on i decide i want them 4/8 or somthing. (just an example) do i have to reallgin everytime i change? Or what if i go to an autox and want them stiff for that day but change them back to normal after? Hows all that work? Allignment is a lot of mulla...

After I've changed my suspension, I took it for an alignment, and guys said my car drives straight and doesn't need an alignment. After driving for about 5k more miles, I see that my tires wear out even. Anyone else hasn't done alignment after changing out suspension? I think I'm the only one

I'm in this group as well. H&R's+KYB AGX's were put on about a month or so ago. My car drives pretty damn straight still.

I didn't align mine either, works just fine. I drove it a while and didn't notice any pull or pushing so i left it alone. Alignment only needs to be done when something is wrong, otherwise you're wasting your money mechanics ofcourse won't tell you that, they want your duckets!

If you lower your car and do it correctly, you will still drive straight down the road. But your Toe (in-out) will be off. Thats a fact of the geometry of the suspension, unless of course, it was off to begin with and by lowering it, it came back to specs. (RARE) The toe changes, camber changes slightly, but if your still in spec on both sides, your car drives straight. Thats does not mean you don't need to have the toe set correctly. Get it put on the rack.

When I switched from Tokicos to AGX's, I also added Ingalls Camber Bolts, since before my tires wore unevenly with the Tokicos (I also have H&R's). I don't really like the Ingalls bolts, but they do work. Most alignment shops will NOT adjust the camber bolts for you, since the factory specs for 4th gens is that only front toe is adjustable.
I just played with the camber bolts until the camber looked right by eyeballing it. Pretty ghetto, but that's all I could do. Then I took it into Firestone for my lifetime alignment (really got my moneys worth on that).
