I just bought these headlight bulbs off ebay. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eb...3&r=0&t=0#BID1 Does anyone else have these? or an opinion on them? they are 100w/80w so i don't think they will burn the wiriing harness. I had other ones for about a month and they were fine.

Yes they will burn the harness.

Stock wattage is 55w/65w.

Personally, I think these kind of bulbs are crap.

Get a pair of Philips BlueVisions instead.

Also, don't believe that those bulbs "meet DOT regulations" overwatt bulbs never do, especially, Japanese, Chinese, Taiwanese bulbs never do...

Well, the entire reason I stayd away from the Philips brand of bulb was because of the blueish tint. These bulbs only have a slight one. Also, I guess as long as they say they are DOT apporved on the box the cop really can't give me a ticket.

I have 80/100 watt bulbs and in time they WILL burn the harness. It took mine about 2 years to burn but they did. So i got new ones and all is good. I dont think a new harness every 2 years is too bad.. I like the look and the light output of the higher wattage bulbs.

quite the contrary, they can give you a ticket, even if the box says "DOT Approved" First, there is a problem with the terminology they use. The Department of Transportation, does not "approve" OEM or Aftermarket products... they set standards and companies are required(or should) follow these regulations...DOT compliant or "Meets DOT or SAE standards" is more correct. Usually companies put that on box. When "DOT Approved" shows up on packaging, it usually means that the company does not know the actual standards and regulations. So, you can get a ticket for "DOT Approved" lights....

Philips Bluevision are NOT white or blue in any way whatsoever.. They're yellow as all hell.... Maybe slightly more white than stock, but still yellow.. If you want good visibility, by all means get Philips.. If you want hyperwhites, look elsewhere, like Naxos or Nokyas.

I would even go with the Eurolie xenon fusion bulbs as well, nice and blue with out the strain on your harness 65/45, just like stock........

Has anybody ever had a cop ever actually pull them over and ticket them for having over watt bulbs? Come on... how would they check the wattage? Actually take them out of your car? Maybe the cops in my area just don't really care much, because I've never heard of anybody having a problem.
