Painted Brake Calipers Question

I want to paint my brake calipers red. I think it would look hot, but the guy at my shop said it was not good for the brakes. He said he wouldn't do it, but I want to know if you guys have any information about this subject. Thanks.

You can do it yourself.

Search, there have been several write-ups on this subject.

Take what the guys at the shop say about appearance modifications with a grain of salt. It has no bearings on the performance of your brakes if you paint the calipers, provided you do a clean, neat job, and dont get any on the pads or rotors.

I painted my calipers red over a month ago, they look great on my black Maxima and did not effect performance at all. The guy at the shop had no idea what he was talking about. paint them up and enjoy, just be neat and careful..

Ill suggest,

any color that is already a theme on your car...like the rims color, the paint color, or maybe the color of the altezzas??

As for rice color, to me that would mean any color that does not match. Like red on your green car, maybe around Xmas time only.

Paint those fockers!!!

As was previously mentioned here and in other posts, do it up just don't get any of that sh$t on your pads or rotors. Tape everything up good before.

I just recently repainted mine. Only suggestion I have is make sure you get high temp paint $4.00 at an auto parts store and use a couple coats of clear coat. This will keep them cleaner and shinier longer.

I put red on mine with a Black Max.

Brig actually red calipers look great on a green car as they are colors that match very well together as do red and black... no difference... now if it was truly a spruce green color then yes perhaps X-mas but since it is in such a small amount it is just gonna match and look really good..

next week when i do my rear brakes i am gonna paint all my calipers red and i have a black emerald 4th gen.... but i am the farthest thing from rice in the world...

do you dare even attempt to call me rice? now i can understand altezza's that still have the chrome or black part not painted body color... i can understand big un-aerodynamic wings and exhausts that are WORSE for the car then the stock... all those but not red on a green car? color has nothing to do with the word rice!!!!!

If you're going to paint your calipers, use brush-on Folia Tec Caliper paint.

It's pricey, but cleans up EASY (just spray it) and goes on perfectly without needing any clearcoat, as it is a lacquer.

You also don't have to worry aobut taping anything up if you use brush-on.
