What would happen, a 96auto max(a few mods nothin special), 97auto 240sx(no mods). Who would come off the line first, who would win an 1/8 mile, and a 1/4 mile

The maxima is the faster car but with regards to who would come off the line hardest, the 240 would. RWD advantage.

 

Ditto, but as soon as you get traction, it's basically for the guy in the 240..... Unless he has the swap

 

I raced my friend who had a 240sx. out of the toll booth I'm rolling 2 mph in 1st. He comes up on me tries to run. He charges thru 1st gear, a small jump ahead. He's going into 2nd gear while I'm still in 1st going to redline, literally flying by him. It was over once I redlined 1st
It was as if the 240, the combo of his engine and tranny gave a higher torque peak in his car than mine in 1st gear, BUT, mine gave high torque for a muuuch longer time

Replacing the KA24E or DE truck engine with the SR20DE or DE-T engine...

or turboing the KA24DE(T)kits are available for about 3 grand
other swaps into 240s that are getting more popular are RB20DETs RB25DETs and VG30DETTs theres also a guy whoes trying to swap a RB26DETT with a full AWD transaxle

a 240 with a VG30DETT swap straght out of the box has run 12.2 1/4s

my old 240 would run 13s all day

I beat my buddie's modded '95 240sx with my previous POS modded '94Probe GT and I KNOW that my I30( or any maxima) is faster than my Probe. I guarantee victory.
