New intake problems!!

i just recently got a k&n filtercharger and made my own hybrid intake. i took out the air filter box and the air silencer(piece bet. maf and throttle body). i replaced it with a piece of rubber tubimg used to connect pvc pipe. the hose to the crank case got a small filter which fits fine, and the other 2 hoses i tied in with pipe into my homade rubber piece. i left the accordian piece there, it's between the maf and accordian rubber thing where the air silencer was. now this is my problem.....

first it sounds great and i notice a little diference in the high end. however when i am crusing around town and if i go to atke it out of gear, eg: 4th-neut. the rpm's will dip to like 100 or 200 and go up to 1k, then way down and stall. it's really annoying!! i don't think it's my driving style, i had no problems before the intake. first thing i did was check the ecu, no codes. i reset it anyway beacuse i did disconnect the maf and air temp sensor. that did nothing. now last sat i left the k&n on but put the air silencer back to see if the way i had it set up the 2 hoses weren't getting enough air flow or something. well that didn't do it. it still stalls.

there is a bit of carbon-dirt in the throttle body at the bottom, not a lot but a little coating. should i try and clean it? i have only had it on for like 2 weeks and the car ran fine with it dirty before.
well i am lost.....please help. i hope i made everything clear as possible.

thanks guys!!

This probably wont help much but make sure there are no leaks after the MAF. Is your standing idle okay? Did you disconnect any wire connections? It's easy to bump things around the intake plumbing. I would really inspect the bigger tube on the back side of the plumbing that goes to the IACV and make sure both ends are snug w/ no leaks. GOod luck. Let us know what you find.
