Question on blue led window switches

I recently did the blue led "mod" for the window switches on my 96' SE. Everything came out fine, except that I noticed that the front switches both driver and pass led was slightly dimmer than both rear switches, and also when I use the dimmer switch for the dash the front switches dims with it and never gets any brighter when the dimmer switch is at it's highest. I used the same led's all around, just wanted to know is the lack of brightness in the front switches common or unusual? I don't know I may just be tweaking.

Dont forget....

We also tried to install blinking leds and a bi colored led red/green. The blinking was cool but the bi colored was crappy.

is the wattage the same as the led's you replaced???? if so the problem is that the position the led sits on the white thingy makes a difference....i accidentally put one led too high and it came out brighter...so if you want them to be the same you have to make sure the led's sit perfectly in the middle.

I don't think this would make a huge difference, but I think even when the dimmer switch is up all the way, it only lets 11 volts through (my memory could be failing me though..)

I did the mod and noticed the same thing. But I believe(if you are looking at the rear switches from the front seat.) the leds seem brighter because of the angle you are looking at them...or, it could also be that the rear swithces allow the led to sit closer causing it to be brighter. As far as the dimmer not working....Mine dim and brighten just like before. FYI If you like the way your switches look, pop some 194 leds in your dash lights. It looks awsome. (autodynamics.com-9.99 per pair) If you have any ????? give me an e-mail.

led's on the dash???

So how would I put blue led's in the dash? Is it more complicated than the window switches? Cause I'm looking to change out the lights on the (auto) shifter display and also on the column steering for that crappy green ring for the ignition... come to think of it I think I'll just gut out my whole car and sodder it to a huge giant led so I can space out staring at it all day...naw just playing... But for real though on the shifter and column steering.

This is true on my car. . . Has always been like that. I don't know what causes it, but there just may be different resistors used in the back allowing more voltage.

Oh yeah another thing...

Just like what ThisMax2NV said, we put red blinking led's for the window lock and doorlock it came out cool at first but the driver auto switch (blue led) was blinking as well... how can we fix that so that all the blue led's stay on and the red blinkers stay blinking?? Anybody know that one?

We also tried a multicolor led it was suppose to be red/green and we used that on the window/door lock switches but it didn't even work so that was a total waste of like 4 bucks.

Oh yeah all the led's were of the same voltage too (5V)

You can't get it to work that way. .. This circuit is wired in series, that is the reason why if you take out one not all the others light up. . .So when you have one blinking LED, the diode inside doesn't allow the correct current to come through the other LEDs and therefore they all blink sort of like Xmas tree lights. . . You would have to figure out a way to put the ones you didn't want to blink on their own circuit, or somehow wire a capacitor into the circuit so it only affects the LED you want to remain lit. . . Honestly I think it would take too much work to get it to work right and more than likely a new board entirely redesigned.

In my car, all of the LEDs on the driver board were MUCH brighter than the rest, and I had to solder resistors in to drop the voltage and keep the brightness even with the other 3 switches. To be honest, I don't remember the resistor values, but I can try to take a look next time I'm out there. Probably won't help you any though, since yours are dimmer (I have no idea why)
