anyone have the budget exhaust 304ss catback?

which of you canadians have this system? what muffler option did you get? should i get a resonator with the straight thru muffler? please describe the sound quality throughout the RPM range/gears. i want a deep aggressive sound that's not too tiring on long trips. budget said it will be a while before they can mail anything out.

Budget told me they installed it on a test car and needed to sit down and crunch the numbers to see what they will offer it for. Looking forward to seeing the whole thing and the details...

I am running a Budget Y-Pipe, Hi-Flo Cat and B-Pipe with stock muffler. The little S-pipe behind the Cat is gone as is the resonator, the whole system is T-304 with the exception of the muffler. The sound is pretty good, not too loud but certainly louder than stock. Highway is great as long as you are not accelerating or going up a hill the sound is like stock. Idling it rumbles. I am going to the first Import race of the season next weekend I will tell you how it goes. The B-Pipe is mandrel bent. I am contemplating putting a resonator on, just want to drive it a bit more before I decide.

BTW B-Pipe was $150 and the Hi-Flo Cat was $115 US Installed. If you want to see pics check here http://forums.maxima.org/showthread....hreadid=113611

Don't think anyone else has a budget y-pipe and b-pipe besides me so you won't get many responses. They only do installs they are not shipping b-pipes at this point

WOW. That looks great! Where exactly is Budget? Like an hour from Buffalo or so? I might make a trip up there on my off time to get that put in... GREAT price too! My '95 is definitely showing signs of being rusted out!

do you know for a fact if they will be shipping full exhausts in the near future? why would they advertise about a catback if they weren't going to ship them out? also, you have a stock replacement style muffler. i wonder what the max would sound like with a straight thru muffler and no resonator. does anyone have such a setup on their car right now?

They are definately going to ship full exhausts as soon as they decide on the muffler design etc. I don't think I would want to run a straight through, but everybody has their own desires. In my opinion mine is too loud now with the stock replacement muffler.
There are a lot of options for the cat-back, eliminate the small S-section, eliminate the resonator etc, so makes it hard for a small company to try and please everybody and give all the options.
I also spoke to Jeff about the flex pipe and he showed me some of the flex joints that he had, some lined, some unlined. After seeing them I think I would sooner have an unlined flex with a little hiss than to keep wondering if it was clogging up the pipe. He had new lined sections that were drastically reduced in size and with heat etc one can only image what their future was.
Budget is located in Burlington which is about a hour from Buffalo so if you are within driving distance is worth it. I drove to Windsor (3 hours) to get some Nitto Drag Radials because you cannot get them here.

Is the issue that the liner has a front edge where the exhaust would "pocket" or swirl around & get really hot? If that's the case, then I guess that leads to quicker metal fatigue.

IT IS ME!!!!!

The test car for the new budget exhaust cat-back is ME. I have it on right now and I am waiting for him to finish/decide on the muffler design. As of now I LOVE the whole system. I also have a budget y-pipe. I will let you guys know what the noise levels are like once the new muffler is on. I have a temp. one on there now which is like a flowmaster or something and it is LOUD....haha but it still sounds sweet I can't wait to hear what it sounds like once the new muffler goes on.
