As you know I recently did the 5-speed conversion and I have a couple of questions.
1. What is the RPM in 5th gear at 60 MPH? (I get 2500 RPM)
2. There is a black hose that looks to come from the bell-housing. Where does this go? (It is the only hose on the tranny.)
3. When I come to a stop the Motor idles at 1500 rpm for about 5 seconds and then drops to 600. Is this because of the auto ECU?

I'm not very familiar with the 5sp conversion but do own a 5sp.

1. 2500RPM in 5th going 60mph sounds about right
2. Can't help you there
3. This could be related to the auto ECU, when I come to a complete stop the RPMs stay at about 1200RPM for 3secs or so then go down to the normal 600-700RPM idle.

I'm not positive, but I think the black hose is just a breather. It does not "go" anywhere.

RPM seems right.
Yes, it is a breather.
Mine idles around 1200 then comes down to around 750 Yours sounds like it is acting fine.

You know where you fill your manual transmission fluid if it comes from that yellow nipple next that hose would connect to your stock box air box , is just to let your tranny breath, I hope thats the hose your talking about.

I'm not really sure, but most manuals, if not all, I've ever driven do that. Maybe it's becuase of a similar problem w/ turbos. It's something like once you've reved up the engine it builds pressure or something - I don't know how to say what I'm trying but if the engine were allowed to drop straight down to idle it would probably go to far and stall out. Autos typically don't drop from say 4,000 rpm to 750, I think the higher idle is just a buffer of sorts.
