Painted m interior! / 2 questions too

I painted my interior yesterday to meet my aluminm console. I painted the speaker cover, window switch covering, an door handle trimmings. It looks really good. I will try to put up pics at some point. Anyway, here are my 2 questions.

1) I wantd to paint the molding around the vents (on the dash closest to the drivers side and passenger side doors) but i don't know how to remove them. It looks like they just pop off, but i would like to check with you guys before i accidentally break them

2) I put about 3-4 coats of paint on then 1 or 2 coats of an acrylic clear coat. However, I noticed that after last night some small pieces have already chipped. Can you guys reccomend a good strong clear coat? thanks.

After I Painted part of my console, I put more like 5 coats of clear coat on. I haven't had any chipping. I used Rustoleum Crystal Clear Enamel, gave it a good shine.

did you use primer? i did, and it still looks like ****. very annoying. i dont reccomend just doing this, research must be done. i have had to repaint several times and i hate it. if there are any proven methods, i would also like to hear them.

At your local Autozone, look for a the "Dupli-Color High Peformance Wheel Paint". Its heat and scratch resistant. I happened to use the silver paint on my pieces.
