0-60

does anyone know the 0-60 on a stock 99 maxima?
i checked motor trends but they only have it on the 2k2
on the faq section, it says motor trends clocked a maxima at 6.7
unfortunately, they are very unclear. what year are they talking about?

if it is, its only the 99.5 model, the early 99 models are the exact same as 98.

I get about 5.7 seconds @ 9.3 psi (when my clutch decides to hold). This is the reading from my Type I turbo timer so I don't know how accurate that is.

yo, am i really that fat? how are you guys running 7's?! I timed myself doing one missassipies from 0-60 and i ran like a 9.5 stock with regular GLE rims, and now with my new rims i run low 11's....i have a 95 and i'm 260....jeez, does all that weight play such a major role? or is cause i have GLe which has ABS and all the heavy stuff? u guys running these speeds with full stock right? not ripping seats off or anything? maybe i gotta just do some maintanance.....throttle body cleaning or something.....

guys...0-60 time means basically nothing...epecially when you're talking about a 1-2 tenth difference.

0-60 does NOT tell you if a certain car is faster than another.

mecca-I'm sure that those big ol chrome rims have something to do with your performance, and I'm not sure about what kind of stereo you have but that will slow you down as well. Even if you lost 100lbs of weight it would only improve your 1/4 mile time by about .10seconds

Dudes, I have a 99.5 SE-L 5sp, and the best run I got w/ pop charger and Potenza's was 7.3 on my g-tech pro. I tried different launch RPM's, riding it, dropping it... got lots of 7.5's, but *NEVER* anything slower than 8. Mecca, if you can't pull anything better than 9's, you seriously need to do something.

BTW, I weigh ~235, and have ~75-100 lbs. of stereo in back too, so I figure total weight is something like ~3450-3500.

I need to go back out and try it w/ my Wsp. Y-pipe!!!

Please do not "measure" your car's performance doing "one-mississippi"...

That is sooooo pointless.

I can "one-mississippi" my way down to 0-60 in 5 flat...

hmmm....i'm going to use my watch today...with my rims so i'll deduct like 2 seconds off to estimate speed if it was fully stock and my stereo weighs like 40 pounds compared to stock which is atleast 25....so i doubt that plays a roll....i think it's just my thick a$$ and inaccurate counting.....

i'll let u guys know what i run later on today....street racing baby

For a stock auto 99 Maxima I've seen 0-60 times ranging from 7.5-8 seconds.
