Beat a 5th Gen. Max & loved it

This morning I was on my way downtown & while on the freeway, behind me comes a 5th Gen. Max GLE, (both mine & this guy's car were stock) me and him are doing a good 75-80mph down M-10 (Lodge Freeway - leads to Downtown Detroit), and I wasn't even trying to race him, but I did pass quite a bit of slow drivers, and boy was he getting furious trying to keep up w/ me, lol, and that just left a smile on my face & a short chuckle to myself, then as he angrily backed off and got off his exit, I just laughed at myself in amazement as to how this guy w/ his 5th Gen. Max couldn't even pass me & all he saw of my 4th Gen. Max was the back of it, lol. Just thought I'd share that w/ you guys.

Now... now... don't fight with your car's younger brothers.

Seriously, though, that seems weird. Shouldn't a 5th gen be able to out accelerate a 4th gen pretty easily at highway speeds?

It will, but the 5th gen would have to go all the way to redline in each gear for it to happen. Fact is, it's a 3 liter VQ against a 3 liter VQ. The increase in HP on the 5th gen is offset by its increase in weight. It will be close.

I know I'd rather get beat by a Maxima, whether it be newer or older, than any other car.
