4 New Mods Today : )

So I finally got some mods done today...

1. Blue LED in the Factory Security hole. Pretty easy mod, looks amazing. Thanks for the LED, Don (Pearl96Max)! The LED is so bright it could blind someone...pics below:

http://www.eden.rutgers.edu/~ferraris/DSC00103.JPG

http://www.eden.rutgers.edu/~ferraris/DSC00104.JPG

2. Pioneer SDV-P7 In Dash DVD player installed in third din. Yes, the navigation unit played DVD movies, but now I can navigate and watch movies at the same time. (The movie playing is Heist)

http://www.eden.rutgers.edu/~ferraris/DSC00112.JPG

3. Pioneer CDX-P1270 12 Disk CD Changer installed under the drivers seat. Yes, it fit. Yes, I can take out the magazine. No, I can no longer move my seat up and down (without crushing the unit). I can move the back forward and back and the seat forward and back, but not up or down. No big deal..i'd rather have the disk changer.

http://www.eden.rutgers.edu/~ferraris/DSC00122.JPG

4. Belkin Auto A/C installed under drivers seat. This was installed so I can run stuff like a laptop, palm charger, or video camera without using their own batteries. It's installed next to the CD changer.

Man, I couldn't wait to get some of this stuff in....my modding is almost complete...just a few hundred mods left to do (most of them sitting in my house, lol)

Looks cool. I was thinking about doing the security light, but I'm not sure how to get at it.

Putting the Belkin Auto AC under the seat was a good idea too. Nothing like having a plug right there. I was planning on doing something similiar in the trunk for my eventual computer mods, but building some kind of enclosure around it so it looked more stock. I also considered putting it in the rear armrest (flip down - plug in ), because I didn't want it anywhere conspicuous.

Is there any way you can do a little write up on what step you took in doing this mod?

Thanks.

I'm not sure if Belkin still makes them. Mine is over 10 years old, lol. I can't use it with the cig. line anymore (starter button) so we threw it in...Belkin makes great stuff and I never had a problem with the unit!

Now that classes are on the last week and finals are next week maybe we need to have another "meet" in CT, last time was lots of fun.

You're confusing me

I thought you had an SE, but your gauges are black w/ white lettering.
I thought you got the rings for the guages too ... and reverse indiglos?

Or am I smoking crack again?

Oh well, back to crack

Sorry, a writeup is a real waste of time...I am going to break it down pretty simply.

1. Disconnect Negative Battery terminal
2. Remove dashboard (indiglo gauge instruction {maximadriver.com})
3. Remove Security led box.
4. Take it apart (it comes apart in the middle)
5. Drill hole in the clear part (next to word SECURITY)
6. Stick LED in hole.
7. Wire LED using instructions on LED case
8. Put back dash.
9. Connect Negative Battery terminal.

If you need any help, im or e-mail me

I wanted the LED to stick out a bit....and it looks much better like that IMO. It only took me like 20 mins to do...I think the post took longer...lol. Having 2 sets of gauges allowed me to learn how to take apart the entire dash almost in my sleep...

No, radio shack LEDs are horrible. This was an amazing LED from Don, (Pearl96Max).

Eric, you just have the pioneer tv with the avm unit right? doesn't look like you have it hooked up to a pioneer hu. how's it work with the avm. is it a tuner? how do you control the radio if it is. also how's the avm look on the tv? from what i can gather it gives you a lot of nice eye candy (good!). just wondering how the radio works with the avm.

thanks.

Sorry, but your post is kinda confusing...when you mean TV, do you mean screen or TV? I have a 7" screen, no TV. I have a MU and everything is pioneer. Here is the components:

Pioneer AVX-7000CD - 7" Screen and CD player
Pioneer AVM-P8000R - Master Unit
Pioneer AVIC-9DVD - Navigation / DVD player
Pioneer SDV-P7 - DVD Player
Pioneer CDX-P1270 - 12 Disk CD Changer

TRON.

Anyway, I'll have to look...it would be kewl to have that in my car...I think that scary new Pontiac SUV comes with a regular plug in it or something...it's neat, but I wouldn't buy it LOL.

Yes I keep meaning to plan another LAN party, but I've been busy.
