interesting find in my front grill

On my 96, on the bottom part of the front bumper (the 2nd hole), I found a ram-air type duct, but since it was late at night (I was checking up on my OSCAI because my L shaped attatchment was missing! haha) I didn't get to see where it led to.

Does anyone know what this is? Could it be the horn?

Thanks for the help.

Search my friend. No one has been able to figure our exactly what that is for.

They only show up on 95s and some 96s.

I came across this too!

It looks like it directs air to the the tranny thus cooling it. This is just what I think , I may be wrong.

It is some addition ram air duct, if you follow it, it should go back to the tranny or something, I forget.

I don't have this on my '95 5-speed. Maybe it is something associated only w/ the automagics?

Anyone else w/ a 5-speed have this mysterious scoop?

Perhaps it was your L shaped attachment you just found!

haha the L-shaped attatchment I had was the tube that used to connect the the useless box (which passage I converted to OSCAI).

So it leads to the tranny eh? Interesting.

thanks for the info guys.

I posted this same thread a while back. The only difference was that I used to have this on my car, but I wrecked the front end, and I didn't realize until almost a year later that it wasn't replaced when I got the car fixed! I happen to come across it after looking at some old photos of my car. I wish I had caught it sooner. Maybe, it served as a purpose, but I'm clueless to what function it served. I believe it only came with the 95-96's. I thought maybe it was part of the air flow duct leading through the air filter assembly. But, who knows? My car hasn't seemed to run any different without it.
