I have a 98 Maxima, being the youngest in the family, Mom and Dad want my car out side, so their cars are warm in winter! Is there a place that I can get a good quality car cover for the maxima, I went out this morning and learned theres a LOT of window to scrape ice off!!! Id prefer using a cover if possible, any suggestions?

I bought a couple over the years. One in an auto parts store and one from the back of Road & Track. They ran about $40 and $75. I didn't notice a difference between the two in quality-it's just a cover and if your goal is to keep it on thecar for short periods of time and keep off ice, etc...I'd just buy a cheap one.

Car cover

hey dude, ice and car covers often do not mix. If it is raining, your cover gets wet. If it freezes it may freeze to your cars paint. In this case you will have to pour warm water over the cover before trying to roll it up. Also check the fit of the cover. The Maximas are very vertical at all four corners. If your cover does not hook under at the corners it will blow off in most moderate winds. you may have to sew on additional shock corded hooks or shock cord around the lower part of the skirt. Fold the cover from each side into the center so that only outside material is touching outside material and iside material is touching inside material. Nothin worse than folding a silt into your cover to find is scratch your car when the wind blows. If you always fold an roll your cover the same way then the time to put in on or take it off becomes very short.

We use the cover only in the summer to keep the dust, dirt, bird ****, and sun off the car. We do not drive the Max much in the winter but often after a drive it is dirty and you really do not wnat to put a cover on a dirty car.

Good luck

I've got a genuine Nissan Maxima cover with bag and a lock if you want one. I've used it only twice. It's still clean and the reason I haven't needed it is because I used to live in an apartment and I bought a house with garage shortly after I bought the cover. Drop me an email if you're interested. Oh and another thing - I live in Florida so I wouldn't know how it would perform in the snow but it was great for the summer. It even has a zippered driver's door opening in case you need to get in the car.
