Tunable exhausts general question

how do they work? what variations in "tune" can you get, if i like the option to have a loud exhaust or a quiet one for road trips etc, is this the way to go? i have seen mesh cones that advertise they quiet exhaust for this reason, but is that the same thing as a tunable exhaust?

Yeah, the only options with those type things are loud and quiet. They dont really effect HP...

Just curious, but why isn't there an aftermarket equivalent to the 5th gen muffler?

Because makers are making tons off their current designs. Most rice babies like that loud sound. I was wondering the exact same myself. It would be a good mod for some of the higher end clients

TRY THIS IDEA IDEA IF YOU WANT TO GO WITH A TUNABLE SYSTEM. ONLY IF YOU CAN GET MORE OF THE SILENCER TIPS. GET SEVERAL TIPS AND DRILL DIFFERENT HOLE PATTERNS AND SIZES. AND EVENTUALLY YOU WILL GET A SOUND THAT YOU WILL LIKE.

Just bought and had installed

Here's a pic of the HKS muffler I just bought and had installed with a 2.5" B-pipe. Sound is great, drones a little from 2100-2500, but above that its not loud. Nice deep, throaty sound.
4.5" Tip, all stainless, looks GREAT!! Exactly the setup I was looking for, and only cost me $290 all together.
