Peeps with PaceSetter STS!!!!!

I got my STS and how the hell do you use it?

The white ball has to go onto the longest thread?

How do you get it there wont go any further then the short thread.

As I understood correctly the higher you place the ball the shorter the shifts will be?

What besides the ball should I greese? The instruction are written in greek Thank you.

Re: Peeps with PaceSetter STS!!!!!

Dude,
You need to read the instructions! It's obvious from just looking at the thing and seeing pics of a shifter. It may be hard to push the ball past the elbow but it should go on the lower threads. Once there, positions it so that the ball just covers the top of the threads--that is the short throw position. Down low on the rod is the long throw position. And the ball is the only thing that needs lubed.

So get to it! You are sure to love it... Still can't believe how much fun factor the sts puts in!

I used a rubber mallet to pound the ball to passed the bend of the shifter. I don't think there is any other way.

i just cut 1.75" off my real shifter and saved myself $70 i was to lazy to replace it... this was quicker and cheaper and works just as good with an aftermarket shiftknob

Its not the same! I have my shifter cut. The shifter is short but the throws are NOT. Thats why I bought the STS.

cutting it is not the same as getting a sts. the sts makes throws about 30% shorter while cutting just changes the leverage. I know people that are happy either way.

It'll loosen up over time, but you definitely need to use quite a bit of grease to make sure it's smooth. Mine also seems a little different when the car is warm and cold I used to have Redline MT-90, but now I have the factory fluid again and I haven't really noticed a difference.
