i did almost the same thing, except the axle didnt snap, just tore a little, and the wheel was moved back toward the fender, and it was a ***** to get it on the tow truck....3 trips to the ****ing mechanic and my alignment is tsill ****ed up....vears right sometimes, and steering wheel shakes between 60-80 mph

My car was in bad shape, they had to flatbed the thing every where and while doing that they ****ed up my rear bumper. but since I've gotten it back the only complaint I have is that the car makes a creaking noise when I turn and reverse or go forward, and if I brake and the nose dives or if I gas and the nose goes up. In any case, I could have been a LOT worse. Thank god there wasn't any other car involved. I was lucky that I didn;t damage the tranny, the car slid for a good few yards on with the front two wheels unable to support the front end.
Alignment seems ok, I had to replace three rims and three Kuhmo's. Car vibrates a little more then it used to on the higway, I think it might be wheel balancing or something, but other then that I think that car took the hit pretty well.

Back when I wrote service for a Chrysler dealer I had a rental Cirrus come in with the same damage, only the impact to the axle busted the tranny off of the engine and took a trans mounting ear off of the engine block along with it. Repair was over $11,000 with the new motor and trans! This was back in '96. Nissans must be a little tougher eh?

better and absorb impact rather than transfer it to the expensive
bits like tranny/motor.

I did the same thing... fixed rim... junk yard control arm, sway bar, dealership bushings and bolts... rotate/balance and alignment... $310 plus 8 hours of my time... mechanic told me it be around 2 grand

WOW
I took a curb at 20 MPH after getting cut-off and losing control of my car. I hit the brakes, determined that I was going to nail the guy in front of me...took the next lane to the right...found out there was road construction...locked the brakes...flattened 4 orange cones and then bonked the curb. My wheel looks fine, but my steering is no longer centered. I have a lifetime wheel alignment so I'll see if they can get the steering straightened as well as any camber or toe that might have gotten messed. The guy who cut me off took off and pretty much left me with the damage....what a jerk!

wow, that's amaizing that it got fixed, I would not want to be the mechanic fixing that thing, I mean, you look at it and say "hmmm... I guess it should be this way, so lets TRY and move it back to where it was and see what happens...
but it's definatly good that you got it all straightned out

Same thing happened to me but just on regular streets just messing around. Took a left turn lost traction completely and hit the curb front right wheel at about 35-50mph as people predict. Grand Total of $2900 and yours looks like you have more damage then me Kev.

Everythign on the right side.
Lower control arm, and axle on the left.
Two Tokico's,three rims and three tires.
That came out to $2500, but Of course $500 was out of my pocket for deductable.

Think of it this way. If both your wheels bent the same way, you could have the smallest turning radius ever for a Maxima!
I took a curb at 35 in my mom's Outback once, I only hit the left front. It was $2700 couting the deductible...oops, sorry mom. All I did was bend the rim and all of the left front suspension parts too!
