My CEL just went off by itself.

My CEL just went off by itself.

Couple of months ago, I took my Max in for a check up to my mechanic and he told me that CEL is on because of my Knock Sensor and it's gonna cost me $275 to get it fixed. But couple of weeks ago, I installing WeaponR dragon intake and I noticed thatthe sensor plug that was on the ram air was unplugged, so I plugged it in. Today, I noticed that the CEL went off. What's the deal? Can anyone answer this question?

plug in, fixed problem, no cel light, no problem.

My SE did that a while back, I was freaking out for a while about it, but after a few fill-ups, the light turned off by itself & I haven't seen it come back on since
