Red/Clear Inner Tails
Red/Clear Inner Tails
I'm going to be removing the stock clear piece from my inner tails on my 98 and replacing it with a piece of clear flourescent light cover, so that my outer tails and inner tails match perfectly.
I was wondering, for those that have done it, if the inner tails open the same as the outer ones, by removing the screws, putting it in the oven, and pulling the lense and housing apart. I assume its the same...not sure though.

Though this post is old, I thought I would reply anyway (just in case)
The inners come apart the same as the outers do. Just heat them up, remove the screws, and voila! The inner clear piece just comes right out once you have it apart. I did mine with the boiling water method and they came apart very easily (no cracks, no warping). The only caveat I found is to make sure when you put them back together that you are using VERY clean water - otherwise you will end up with waterspots on the inside of your lights.
