interior ventalation micro filter for 98 Maxima

interior ventalation micro filter for 98 Maxima
I would like to put in a micro filter (allergy related issues) in a 98 maxima. The dealer said they didn't make them until '00. Can the '00 microfilter be made to work in a '98. Anyone ever done it.?

I thought I heard it could be retrofitted. Parts guy must not know much about it.
