I JUST got a 1995 Maxima and I am curious what i should do first for engine mods. I hear the CAI is very nice but I also would like to get exhaust. What do yo recommend a new Maxima owner to buy first for one's car? :confused: Thanks!

FSTB for handeling... for performance i'd go with the CAI or Y-Pipe depending on how much money you've got to spend.

 

I would first check the entire car over and fix anything before I modded it. Being that it is a 95 are the brakes good? If it's manual, how's the clutch? That kinda stuff. If everything is good it will then depend on what you want your mods to do. Are you after speed or handling or looks. I'm sure all of these, but you have to make priorites. Lowering the car is the BEST thing for handling but is $$$$. So the cheaper route is to get the "bars". The fstb is good. The rsb is another fantastic mod. The rstb is a waste of money from what I gather, all though I've never had one. For speed I would say get a y pipe from Warpspeed immediately. It is probably the best bang for buck mod you can get. I may be wrong on this next point but I've heard our cars don't benefit too much from exhaust mods other than the Y pipe I mentioned. I have a pop charger and love it. Recently at a dyno my car made more peak hp and my torque curve looked better than two other maxs w/ CAI. Take that for what it's worth. SO I would probably start w/ a RSB, a pop charger and a y pipe. I'd probably do it in that order too. Hope this helps a little. Good luck and let us know what you decide to do.
